constant servant

He did not know it, but I noticed this man walk below my pension window every early morning toward the Blue Mosque for Fajr prayer (before sunrise). And for every prayer I attended, I had the pleasure to witness this gentleman's devotion, as he was there... for every prayer, at the front right hand corner of the mosque. Ignored the tourist trade and focused instead on his journey, five times daily, to worship, and focus. A servant to self-betterment. I was and am charmed by him.

The Night Prayer

The night comes to Dar es Salaam like a light switch flicked off. Well after sunset, after Isha prayer, it's easy to become contemplative.

The Fall of the Moors

Struck by contrast between the Moorish masjids in places such as Cordoba and Granada and this current day mosque in the flourishing city of Barcelona, one wonders about the process that lead to two such different manifestations.
